Most Ukrainians suppose that the social and political situations in Ukraine have declined rather than improved after the second round of the presidential election in December 2004.
Such are the questionnaire data, that has been conducted by fund “Deminitsiatyvy” and IFES in November this year.
Most (57%) of respondents are confirmed that there has been a great or slight decline of economic situation in the country since the elections. At the same time, only 13% suppose there has been improvement in this sphere, 26% believe the economic situation remains the same.
42% of Ukrainians say their families’ material situation has declined since last year, while 14% say their situation has improved.
More than three fourth of respondents (76%) mark they are not satisfied with the political situation in the country. 73% of Ukrainians are not satisfied either with the economic or political situation in Ukraine. Only 8% are satisfied both with the economic and political situations.
Also most of Ukrainians do not feel any improvement in the fight against corruption since the December 2004 elections.
40% of Ukrainians say they do not feel any change in the fight against corruption. 29% mark the decline in anti-corruption fight and 21% suppose there has been a great or slight improvement.
43% of Ukrainians suppose that the political stability in the country has declined since the December 2004 elections, 14% say it has improved, and one third of respondents (33%) say it remains the same.
In the course of a survey there have been questioned 1,265 respondents of voting age throughout Ukraine. The margin of error is plus or minus 2.75%.
