President Jorge Bush is not going to meet with Yanukovych during Ukrainian Prime Minister’s visit to the US, the US Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor claims.
The PM will meet with Vice-Prime Minister Dick Cheney to decide economic issues.
“Officials in Washington would like to know about Ukraine’s advance in its bid to join the WTO,” Taylor reveals.
Americans dislike that Ukraine has introduced restrictions on grain export and insist on this problem solving until December.
Ukrainian PM and Dick Cheney are going to pay much attention to the Black Sea shelf elaboration.
Americans cannot disregard the question of Ukraine’s joining NATO which Yushchenko and Yanukovych have quite opposite opinions on.
On November 13 Yushchenko issued a decree which determined some problems of Ukrainian-American relations in the frameworks of the PM’s visit to the US. He obliged the Ukrainian delegation to present draft directives to reconcile the President’s and the Prime Minister’s positions regarding foreign policy.
Yet, according to Yushchenko’s press-secretary Iryna Vannykova, the PM Secretariat has ignored the President’s orders.
