In Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv the rallies in support of the Parliamentary Coalition and Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych’s government took place on Saturday.

According to “Ostrov”, there were 2,500-3000 demonstrators at the Donetsk rally. People were holding the party banners of the anti-crisis coalition members in their hands, namely, the Party of Regions, Socialist Party of Ukraine (SPU) and Communist Party of Ukraine (CPU) banners.

There were Anatoliy Blyzniuk, the Head of Donetsk Regional Council and Oleksandr Lukyanchenko, Donetsk mayor, present at the rally.

Those speaking to the public assured people that there are no grounds to conduct snap election to the Verkhovna Rada, and the very fact of holding snap election will place a heavy burden on the working population of Donbass.

A resolution to support the parliamentary coalition and the Cabinet of Ministers was adopted at the rally. “Today Ukraine has a desperate need for political stability and national unity as never before,” the resolution stresses.

At the same time, according to Interfax-Ukraine News Agency, there were around 4,000 people present at the rally in Kharkiv, by law enforcement agencies’ estimates.

The rally took place next to the Opera House building under the banners of the Party of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (PPPU) of Ukraine, SPU and also the “Russian Bloc”, the Union of the Soviet Officers, the public organisations “Slobozhanskyi Vybir” and “Razom upered” movements.

The speakers bitterly condemned the attempts to hold snap election to the Ukrainian Parliament.

A resolution, which condemns “any attempt to destabilize” the social and political situation in the country and lists the demands that all political forces should strictly follow the Constitution and laws of Ukraine, was adopted at the rally.

At the same time, there were around 500 participants at the rally in Dnipropetrovsk. According to 5 Kanal, those present condemned the mass protests campaigns which are taking place in Kyiv, and appealed to the Parliament, the President and the government to cooperate.
