Yushchenko Greeted Putin, And Yanukovych Is Happy For the Welfare of Russians

President Viktor Yushchenko congratulated President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on a national holiday – the Day of Russia.

“On behalf of Ukrainian people and on my behalf I warmly congratulate you on the national holiday of the Russian Federation – the Day of Russia,” cites President press service the greeting of Mr. Yushchenko, reports Interfax-Ukraine.

“I am convinced that comprehensive development of Ukrainian-Russian relations based on strong legal foundation, in particular on the intergovernmental agreement on friendship, cooperation and partnership, under the condition of exact fulfillment of bilateral and multilateral obligations will fully correspond to the expectations of our nations,” noted Mr. Yushchenko.

President wished Mr. Putin and friendly Russian nation happiness, peace, harmony and further prosperity.

In his turn, Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych sent a greeting on the occasion of the Day of Russia to the head of Russian Federation government Mikhail Fradkov.

According to Ukrainian government press service, the greeting of Mr. Yanukovych said that “Ukraine is sincerely happy for significant achievements of Russia, acceleration of development of leading economic fields, strengthening of world authority, and increase of the Russians’ welfare.”

“I am deeply convinced that success achieved by our countries on the way to strengthening national economy create favorable conditions and provide new opportunities for the enhancement of Ukrainian-Russian cooperation in all important directions and first of all in the trade and economic field,” notes the greeting of Mr. Yanukovych.

Prime Minister expresses his confidence that positive tendencies in the relations of Ukraine and Russia as strategic partners will further carry on.

According to Mr. Yanukovych, the session of the Commonwealth member states heads which took place on May 25 2007 in Yalta became yet another step for the development of multilateral cooperation in the framework of CIS and for strengthening of authority of the Commonwealth.

Prime Minister of Ukraine wished his Russian counterpart and his family good health and happiness, and welfare and further prosperity for the Russian nation.
